Non-Religious Funeral
A non-religious funeral in its purest form has no religious content of any kind and would probably be best described as humanist in nature. They are often conducted by a celebrant accredited by the British Humanist Association. However, some humanists will perform civil style ceremonies. We are happy to conduct humanist style ceremonies with no reference to God, prayers or hymns etc.
Many people tell their Funeral Director that they want a 'non-religious funeral' and by this they mean they do not want a formal service in a church building or from a service book. However they may wish to include hymns, prayers or other spiritual items. Our approach is to listen carefully to each person and then build their wishes into a ceremony.
